An anti-diabetic sweet sorghum sweetener is now being released to the market by Bapamin Enterprises (BE) of Ilocos Norte which held preliminary talks to supply the sweetener to Universal Robina Corp. and Monde Nissin Corp.
BE, which has a 25-hectare sweet sorghum farm in Batac, Ilocos Norte is even eyeing partnerships with the sweetener’s marketer.
‘We have agents of institutionalized companies like Robina and Monde Nissin inquiring on the product,” said Antonio S. Arcangel, BE president, in an interview. “We’re really looking for a joint venture partner who will do the marketing so we can concentrate on planting and production.”
